By incorporating automated complex plate-handling functionality and patented graphical utilities to facilitate data tracking and management, novice users can map and track processes with ease. Clients can create workflows, map sample lifecycles and automate actions. Manual and error-prone activities are eliminated, while throughput, productivity and accuracy are enhanced. Nautilus offer many benefits, the key being

Easy Configuration and Maintenance
Nautilus’ graphical interface and patented Workflows emulate and model laboratory processes so usage becomes intuitive. These features expedite the mapping of static and dynamic processes, allowing users to organize data and do their jobs quickly and effectively without programming. With equal ease, Nautilus delivers data capture, integration and automation capabilities out-of-the-box. This eliminates transcription errors and provides users with access to both raw and derived data. By improving efficiencies and data reliability, users can make more informed decisions even faster.

Results can be entered or viewed using the web or within the
Nautilus clients. The full power of Nautilus is accessible
using a windows client or a standard web service.

Increase Throughput with Plate Handling and Automation

Nautilus lets you easily visualize plates. You can check
the amounts of samples and drill into a well to expose
the entire hierarchy and relevant information such as
where the sample originated.

A short learning curve, easy integration and automation result in a rapid return on investment and lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Nautilus does this by simplifying definition of plate configurations and fill patterns, letting users build and format work-action and decision-tree processes against project requirements. Advanced plate handling within Nautilus includes graphical workflows, plate editors, and built-in integration functionality that enables increased throughput and automation. Users can automate data flow or manipulate it manually, using capabilities like drag-and-drop within a graphical plate editor. With this users can make informed decisions since they have access to all of their instrument data in a single interface. Users can compare analyses from disparate instruments and overlay the results. Data Manager bridges the gap, maximizing the value of existing analytical instruments and protecting investments in the future. No other LIMS can offer the scope, breadth and depth of this functionality.

Fully Auditable and Compliant
Users can easily configure Nautilus for processes that need validation or that operate in the spirit of GLP. In mixed environments, Nautilus security allows regulated data to be kept separate from unregulated processes. Nautilus has a configurable electronic signature template and audit capabilities to comply with 21 CFR Part 11, keeping users aware of what processes they must follow. Nautilus’ database design fully utilizes an Oracle RDBMS to enforce data security, auditing and compliance with 21 CFR Part 11. The unique architecture enables integration with the entire laboratory in a flexible, secure manner.

Participate in MUI’s There’s Power In Numbers and get volume pricing even if you buy just one

July 14th, 2008 ·

There is power in numbers and the latest programme to be launched by MUI gathers all potential buyers for a certain product and using this volume purchase power, negotiate for the lowest possible pricing from the supplier.  How does it work?

MUI will first select a product for the month, and negotiate for a very good price for a certain quantity. For example, for August, we have negotiated with a supplier for the lowest pricing possible for a range of cabinets of different sizes. In order for us to get this pricing, we will have to deliver a certain quantity as orders.

We offer the pricing and products to all our customers for 2 weeks. At the end of the two weeks, we gather all the orders together.  If we are able to reach the minimum quantity specified by the supplier collectively, MUI will inform you to obtain a formal purchase order from you. If we exceed the minimum quantities, MUI will try to negotiate for even more discounts and pass these discounts back to you.

However, if we are not able to obtain the minimum quantities required, MUI will inform you and the programme for that month will be canceled. Or extended.

We will post more information about this programme as well as information and pricing on the cabinets soon. So come back end of July to get more information.

is assured. Thermo Scientific LIMS are instrumental in the day-to-day operation of food and beverages laboratories.

Drinking and Wastewater Treatment
Drinking water and wastewater analysis labs have to monitor the quality of both potable water and effluent on a regular basis in order to maintain public safety and ensure contents satisfy regulatory requirements. Above-limit determinations need to be reported rapidly, and trigger increased testing frequencies to monitor any potential health hazards. Thermo Scientific purpose-built LIMS are routinely used to most effectively manage the collection, storage, reporting and scheduling of these highly regulated activities.

Forensics
Recent advances in technology, along with U.S. homeland and international security initiatives, have resulted in a dramatic increase in the need for forensic laboratory analyses. This is particularly prevalent in the field of DNA forensics, where new extraction and data analysis techniques have widened the applicability to many new areas. Our LIMS provides the assurance of adherence to protocols necessary for the integrity of the analyses across international legal requirements.

Metals and Minerals Production
Metals and minerals production require a fast turn-around of quality data from a laboratory information management system, particularly in refining and extraction operations. Our LIMS allow for fast analysis of instrument data, which means process decisions may be made as quickly as possible and process parameters may be adjusted based upon what is often an inconstant raw material for the operation. Count on us to provide the necessary process control to maximize output and margins.

Environmental Regulations
Environmental labs work under the auspices of national and international regulators such as the EPA or EU, and therefore need to have stringent control of the analytical techniques used to determine chemicals found in the environment. Integrating LIMS and CDS with a variety of analytical instrumentation to support the analyst in making determinations is critical to carrying out this activity efficiently. We deliver highly configurable integrated software solutions designed to meet the specific needs of environmental laboratories.

Portable Particle Counter from Met One

May 2nd, 2008 ·

Multi Universal Instrument is proud to present Met One Handheld Particle Counters and Particle Mass Profiler.

A particle counter is a sophisticated monitoring instrument that counts the amount of particulate contamination. Modern particle counters detect contaminants from the air, a surface or a liquid. Some examples of these particles can be anything from oil, metal shavings, dust, smoke, ash, mold, or other biological contaminants. This information is very useful to professionals for determining how pure the air is for breathing, water treatment, producing food & drugs or microchips in a cleanroom.

A handheld particle counter offers a convenient and portable way to test your indoor air quality, spot check or verify clean rooms and test air filter efficiency. Small enough to walk around and hold in one hand, these types of particle counters are great for quickly finding general information about the air in one spot, then moving and checking another spot. In this way, they can be used to locate a source of contamination.

Explore the following models from Met One. Click on the counter of your choice to download a brochure.
